Bruce Hanrahan

Manager Bruce Hanrahan has worked for Vospers for 22 years becoming fully qualified in all aspects of the profession. Bruce is married to Bronwyn who also works part-time at Vospers. They have two children and together are involved in a number of community groups. In his spare time Bruce enjoys caravanning, travelling, kayaking and has recently restored his second MG sports car. Bruce was one of the first recipients of the National Diploma of Funeral Services, the award recognised by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as the national standard for the funeral profession.

 

Andrew King

Funeral director Andrew King is Taranaki born and bred and lives there with his wife Robyn and two teenagers. Andrew is actively involved in the St Joseph’s church and has worked for over 25 years in the advertising industry including in the creative department of the Taranaki Daily News. Away from Vospers he plays representative badminton for Taranaki, enjoys walking and gardening and summer holidays at Opunake Beach.

 

Kirsty Mehrtens

Kirsty Mehrtens comes to funeral directing after a retail background, previously owning her own floristry business in New Plymouth. She is married to Scott, has two teenage children and a cat named Nia. In her spare time, Kirsty enjoys relaxing and taking time out with a great cappuccino. As a 'part-time' exerciser, she enjoys walking and over the summer is part of the Vospers 'social bowls' team.

 

Doreen Miller

Doreen is a part-time administrator and has worked at Vospers for 22 years. As the daughter of dairy farmers Doreen's early life was spent working on the family farm before she began work doing book keeping and administration tasks. Doreen then went on to complete her Funeral Directing Course at the Central Institute of Technology to become a Registered Funeral Director. After a period in this role she reverted back to administration, working part-time. Doreen is married with four adult children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, as well as playing badminton, gardening, and she serves as the treasurer of her church.

 

Bruno Egli

Funeral director Bruno Egli joined Vospers in 2000 after 20 years as a minister in the Methodist Church. He was minister at Bell Block, New Plymouth for some years before being transferred to Hastings. Bruno and his wife Kathi returned to New Plymouth to be closer to their grandchildren. A mechanical engineer by trade Bruno has brought many practical skills to the company. He arranges and directs funerals and is active on our after hours roster. Bruno also plans and oversees our Memorial Service each year.

 

Kathy Ellison

Kathy Ellison, Vospers Bereavement Support Coordinator, originally a school teacher, has been a hearing therapist in New Plymouth for 20 years. She has a Certificate in Counselling, is a life member of Lifeline Taranaki and is involved as a volunteer with a range of organisations.

 

Bronwyn Hanrahan

Married to Bruce, Bronwyn has had a long association with the company assisting in various roles over many years. Trained in accounting and data entry Bronwyn worked for several local accountants before working as programme administrator with the Taranaki Educare Training Trust. Over recent years Bronwyn has continued with studies and is now involved in tutoring as well as managerial duties for the programme.
